In the morning or in the evening, we can see many old people doing all kinds of exercise in the parks or on the roadside. Maybe many of them do exercise just for fun, but exercise is good for their health. Today many young people have taken action to build up their body, which is really a good phenomenon. In the past few years, young people did not like doing exercise because they thought it unnecessary. However, more and more of them have realized that a strong body now doesn't mean a sound body when they get older. Therefore, The young people begin to take up all sorts of exercise, such as going to the gym, doing yoga and so on. To meet the needs of market, many sports centers are opened for young people to exercise themselves. ......

Where do you want to live, in the city or in the countryside? On one hand, I want to live in the city when I'm young. Above all, I have to take child into consideration. If I live in the countryside, how can I give my child a good education? What shall I do if my child can't catch up with city children? Second, living in the city gives me much entertainment. Most of my friends live in cities or towns. It's very convenient for us to hang out together. You know, face-to-face communication is very important and effective. Third, the cities can widen my horizon and knowledge. Therefore, living in the city has advantages over the countryside. ......

There are more and more private cars in China. While private cars bring people benefits, they also cause problems. having private cars has many advantages. First, private cars allows you to go anywhere you like, and you don't need to wait in a long queue to get on a bus. In other words, it is very convenient if you have a car. Second, private cars permit you to work either near your living place or far from your house. You are not confined to a nearby area to find a job. by Helen Keller All of us have read thrilling stories in which the hero had only a limited and specified time to live. Sometimes it was as long as a year; sometimes as short as twenty-four hours, but always we were interested in discovering just how the doomed man chose to spend his last days or his last hours. I speak, of course, of free men who have a choice, not condemned criminals whose sphere of activities is strictly delimited. Such stories set up thinking, wondering what we should do under similar circumstances. What associations should we crowd into those last hours as mortal beings? What happiness should we find in reviewing the past, what regrets? ......
I often wonder whether I have a true friend or not. I don't know what real friendship is. Are there any standards to measure? I can't figure out. I have several close friends of high school and university. We used to be very intimate and we spent school days together. After we graduated, we hardly contact each other. However, we still have a lot to share and talk about everything including secrets when we actually meet. Sometimes I feel it quite unbelievale. How can this happen? Maybe this is just the real friendship. We need each other so much even though we don't exchange ideas often. ......

It has been raining for almost half a month. I really hate wet days in winter because it is too cold outside. I would rather it snowed, then I can still do some outdoor activities like snow ball fighting and making snowman. However, with the lasting rainy days, I have to stay indoors all day long. It indeed sucks. Well, now that I have no choice, I learn to accept by looking for fun in rainy days. I believe there must be many indoor activities to different people. As far as I'm concerned, I'm also engaged in doing something.I like doing follwing things when it is raining in cold weather: ......

Recently, many people are addicted to a small computer game called "QQ farm".And the game is becoming very popular among people from all walks of life, regardlees of their age. Out of curiosity, I also opened one myself last month. It's reaaly a very simple game. we just need to buy the seeds, plant them in the ground, get the ripe plants in the barn and sell them in order to earn money. Also we can steal things from other farms to add to our money. With the money, we can not only buy the seeds but also beautiful houses of different styles. ......

There is a saying goes: Seeing is believing. I don't think it is quite true. We say that we can't believe what we hear because there are many rumours that we can not tell whether they are true or not. So we'd like to believe what we really see with our own eyes, which is more reliable. However, there is still some doubt in the truth of the things we see. There is a little story in which refers to two hens. One hen lays an egg everyday. When it has laid an egg, it just leaves its nest. However, the other hen stands beside the newly-laid egg and crackles loudly. Therefore the owner takes the crackling hen as his pride, and gives it good food to eat. In this complicated society, nothing is impossible. How can we be sure of everything? Sometimes our eyes may fool us just like the owner of the two hens. ......
As we know, it's never too late to learn. Learning should become a part of our life. I can't imagine our life without learning, and I think a person without learning is like a frog in the well. Without learning, we will be isolated by others and deserted by the society., and we will not be able to know what's happening outside our own small world. As long as we are living in the lively world, learning is inevitable. Because we must communicate with others, solve problems, and make ourselves accepted by the society. When involved in this process, we are actually learning from others and from the things we have done. However, only when we have absorbed the useful knowledge and experience and take action do we really learn something. The pleasure of learning something is great, which I think everyone must have had a good taste of. ......

(by Bertrand Russell) Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair. I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy –ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of life for a few hours of this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness--that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what- at last- I have found. ......
As we know, it's difficult to take the first step. When I began to practise oral english, I didn't dare to open my mouth. I just clicked into a chatroom, listened to others talking and struggled whether to take the mic or not. The first two evenings, I just sat in front of my computer, totally in silent. Fortunately, I didn't give up. On the third evening, I went to an empty chatroom and bravely took the mic. I just read an English article. Hardly had I finished reading when someone came in and sent a message to me, saying that my English was good. I was greatly encouraged. And I tried my best to chat with her. Although I felt uneasy with my broken English, I finished the conversation happily. Having taken the first step, I became enthusiastic about chatting online. Every time I turn off the computer, I feel my oral English is better than the day before. ......

When a person is in his or her 20s, he or she will consider seeking a good match. However, what is a good match? It differs in terms of different people. One of my friends said that she wants to marry a man with a big house and a car. Another said she'd like to find a promising young man. I can't judge them by their words. but I do think that economic status is indeed a very important factor in today's society. If you marry a man without any economic depend, you may have to pay for a house for 20 years. That's really a frustrating thing. However, a promising young man is hard to find. Anyway, you can’t promise whoever is promising in the future. So, the girls may be in a dilemma. ......

Yesterday, when I chatted with someone in a chatroom, she asked me "Did your parents ever beat you when you were a child?" Automatically, I said yes. I think everyone has more or less such experiences in which they were beaten hard by their parents. But however hard their parents beat them, the parents are still loving parents. The other day, I went to see a little friend who is only six. Before I got into the house ,I heard him cry loudly. I didn't know what happened. I entered the opened house and first saw his mother crying in one room, and then in aother were my little friend and his "cruel" father. The father was beating him for not having dinner often. Poor little creature! I thought. He must be painful. ......
