我们总是处在决定和选择之中，决定一件事情是否该做，是否值得做；选择我们认为重要的，放弃我们认为不重要的。而这个过程往往是艰难的，痛苦的，我们会反复地衡量得与失，理性地分析对与错。也许只有当我们静心独处，仔细倾听内心的声音的时候，才能做出一个不后悔的选择。
Horror gripped the heart of the World War I soldier as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle. Caught in a trench with continuous gunfire whizzing over his head, the soldier asked his lieutenant if he might go out into the "No Man’s Land" between the trenches to bring his fallen comrade back.
"You can go," said the Lieutenant, "but I don’t think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your own life away." The Lieutenant’s words didn’t matter, and the soldier went anyway.
Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, hoisted him onto his shoulder, and brought him back to their company’s trench. As the two of them tumbled in together to the bottom of the trench, the officer checked the wounded soldier, then looked kindly at his friend. "I told you it wouldn’t be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead, and you are mortally wounded."
"It was worth it, though, sir," the soldier said.
"How do you mean ‘worth it’?" responded the Lieutenant. "Your friend is dead!"
"Yes sir," the private answered. "But it was worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive, and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say, ‘Jim, I knew you’d come.’"
Many a time in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not really depends on how you look at it.
Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in life.

Yes this may be surprising, I was only 13 years old that time. But, don’t know how or why it happened to me so early. I fell deeply in love with a guy, who I used to think was annoying 2 months ago.
It was 1997, in Chittagong, Bang- ladesh, me and my family have just moved to a new apartment in a new area. So, after few weeks have passed, I started going back to school, since it was during Ramadan we moved. Well, I made some new friends in the neighborhood. This girl who was always hanging out with, her name was Ivy.
One day when I was going to school, I bumped into Ivy on the way out of my building, and she was standing next to this guy, he lived in the building right beside mine. He said “Hi” to me, and we just asked each other “how are you” and blah blah, then I had to leave. But I noticed that guy was looking at me. It was a different kind of look, look with love in his eyes. Few days later, I noticed whenever I go to school and come back from school, he is standing in his balcony, and smiling at me. If he is not around, and one of his friends see me, they start to yell out his name. Oh yeah, by the way, his name was Mamun.
So, I was very annoyed by those things. And I even told Ivy to tell Mamun to stop these foolishness. After my exams were over, I had a break. So I used to go to the roof and read books to spend my time. Mamun used to come to their roof also and both roofs where so close to each other that you can just jump from one to another.
Once I was reading a book, and I noticed Mamun come to their roof and he looked at me, and smiled. OH MY GOD! I don’t know what happened to me. That sweet smile just took me away. I smiled back at him, for the first time. I could never forget that moment. We used to smile at each other whenever we saw each other, but never had a chat. I was sure that he liked me a lot, because, anytime he would see me on the roof from his balcony, he came up to the roof right away. I fell in love with him very deeply. I was surprised that I did. The feelings I had was so beautiful and made me so happy.
Mamun did come to my roof one day to talk to me but I wanted him to go away. I didn’t want any one to see us talking. As you know, in Bangladesh rumors go around so fast. When we talked, I saw deep love in his eyes. I always smiled at him; I didn’t talk to him much. Still, life was going on so wonderfully. Mamun never told me he loved me. I thought that was because, I was 5/6 years younger than him.
Very soon, I found out that me and my family are leaving Bang- ladesh and coming to Canada. I was devas- tated. I cried all night but there was nothing to do. When Mamun found out, he asked me on the roof, if it was true. When I said yes, he asked how long will I be in Canada. The answer was maybe forever, we were going to settle in Canada. He looked depressed, all he said was “Oh”, then I told him out flight date.
The next month, it was Ramadan again. Mamun came to say good bye to me on the roof, he was leaving to spend his Eid with his family. That day, I was so sad, I felt like I lost something very important in my life. We said goodbye to each other, he said he thinks I am such a sweet girl, he hopes I have a great life in Canada. Oh my god, I couldn’t hold myself, I think my eyes became watery. I didn’t want him to see that I was crying. I said “you too” and tried to smile and left the roof right away.
That was the last day I ever saw my first love. Now 4 years later, here I am in CANADA. I have guy in my life now, whom I am deeply love with after Mamun. I never lose him.
I am ... over Mamun now. Everytime I remember those days, looking at each other on the roof, talking, I feel really down. I wonder where he is now, if we will even meet again... I can never forget my first love.

To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.
To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. There will be others better or worse than they are.
To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.
To learn that they should control their attitudes, otherwise their attitudes will control them.
To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them.
To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to show their feelings.
To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.
To learn that while at times they may be entitled to be upset, that does not give them the right to upset those around them.
To learn that great dreams do not require great wings, but a landing gear to achieve.
To learn that true friends are scarce, he/she who has found one has found a true treasure.
To learn that they are masters of what they keep to themselves and slaves of what they say.
To learn that they shall reap what they plant; if they plant gossip they will harvest intrigues, if they plant love they will harvest happiness.
To learn that true happiness is not to achieve their goals but to learn to be satisfied with what they already achieved.
To learn that happiness is a decision. They decide to be happy with what they are and have, or die from envy and jealousy of what they lack.
To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see something totally different.
To learn that those who are honest with themselves without considering the consequences go far in life.
To learn that even though they may think they have nothing to give, when a friend cries with them, they find the strength to appease the pain.
To learn that by trying to hold on to love ones, they very quickly push them away; and by letting go of those they love, they will be side by side forever.

以下是本人在背英语四级单词的时候，总结出来的三个小窍门，经过亲身体验觉得非常不错现向大家推荐，各位网友朋友们不妨自己试一试：
1.背单词要背得好，要背得快，最基本的原则是脑子不断地想单词，让单词不断地从脑子里过，看书看10遍，还不如脑子过一遍。要做到单词在脑子里过的次数比在书本上过的次数多得多，要做到完全抛开书本，不依赖书本，不拿书的时候也在想单词、背单词。要尽量在单词被忘记之前在脑子里过一遍，这样，它留给你的印象要深得多，就算以后忘记，也很容易记起来。
2.背单词时还要注意在单词之间建立联系。当然，刚开始时可能能建立的联系很少，但要注意培养这种意识，争取一串串地背单词，看见一个，就能想起一串。比如，同义的单词一块儿记，反义的、形似的、分类的、词根的，背单词一段时间之后，就应该看到该单词，想一想以前学过什么同义的，如果只有印象而想不起来，最好在一个笔记本上记一笔，下次碰到该单词时，特别注意。比如，背单词一段时间后，应该问自己：我一共学了多少关于衣服的词？如果你只记得中文意思，想不起英文，下次就要特别注意了。或者......

文章分为开头的起始段、中间的核心段和结尾的结束段，最常见是三个段落，也有四个段落和两个段落，但并不多见。文章最终的具体模样变化极大，但结构却较为固定。开头和结尾中间的核心部分大多时候是一个段落，也有的时候是两个段落。开头和结尾有可能与中间的核心部分融为一段，但前者的可能并不大，更不存在两者都融合的情形。开头总是引入主题的段落，所以不管是书信还是图表关系都不大(主要只影响第一个段落)，只要符合各自的情形即可。
四、六级写作(主要讲中间核心段落)最常见的有三种情况。第一种情况就是对立观点(包括选择子类)的情况。这种情况主要有(AB——I——C)、(A——B——I)和(AB——AB——I)的写法(其中A和B表示对立的观点，I表示我，C表示结论。具体分析参见贡献写作心得之一)，其中每个文章都有开篇句，放在第一段的开头。这里若只有一句话，单独成段就不大可能。若有两句话或以上，就可单独成段，但这种情形并不多。
第二种情形是事物性质的情形(包括利弊子类)。开头一般单独成段。中间根据要求，有时利与弊都写，有时只写优点，有时只写......

身份证、准考证，还要一份签字的《诚信考试承诺书》，考生才能进场参加考试，否则“取消考试资格”。这是2007年12月的四六级考试期间，北京几所高校的强硬规定。
考试当天，一名北京大学的大四学生忘了带“承诺书”，被监考人员拦在考场外，最终没能入场考试。然而，考试结束不久，记者了解到，仍有不少枪手成功地拿到了佣金。事实证明，《诚信考试承诺书》一纸协议难敌作弊市场的隐性需求。
上周，中国青年报社会调查中心和腾讯网联合实施的在线调查(有2106名参加者)显示，71.5%的人认为《诚信考试承诺书》“基本上形同虚设”。88.8%的人认为这一协议已然“没有必要，诚信绝不是简单地签个保证书就能达成的”。
从2004年开始，教育部规定，在一些国家统一考试中，要求考生考前阅读《诚信考试承诺书》并签字认可。大部分考生在四 六级 考试前都签署了“承诺书”。但就在当年，出现了大面积泄题舞弊事件，首次出现利用互联网贩卖试题答案的团伙犯罪案件，涉及全国11个省市数百名考生。
